seeking an experienced Crane Operator to safely and efficiently operate overhead cranes and material-handling equipment in a fast-paced steel processing and manufacturing environment. The Crane Operator will be responsible for moving, loading, unloading, and positioning steel and other materials throughout the facility while following all safety and operational procedures.
Responsibilities
Operate overhead cranes to safely move steel, metal products, coils, plates, and other heavy materials.
Load and unload trucks and position materials in designated storage or production areas.
Inspect cranes, rigging equipment, hooks, chains, slings, and other equipment before use.
Safely attach and secure loads using proper rigging techniques.
Read and follow work orders, production instructions, and material tags.
Communicate effectively with ground personnel, forklift operators, supervisors, and other team members.
Maintain awareness of surrounding employees, equipment, and potential hazards while operating the crane.
Assist with material handling and general production duties as needed.
Follow OSHA, company, and facility safety procedures at all times.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Report equipment problems, damaged rigging, safety concerns, or material issues to management.
Qualifications
Previous overhead crane operating experience in a steel, metal, manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
Experience handling heavy steel or metal products is a plus.
Knowledge of proper crane operation and rigging procedures.
Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials.
Ability to read and understand work orders and material identification.
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
Willingness to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.

Preferred Experience
Overhead bridge crane experience
Steel mill or metal fabrication experience
Rigging and material-handling experience
Experience with magnets, slings, chains, hooks, or other load-securement equipment
Forklift experience
Knowledge of steel products and dimensions
