Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Crate Builder / Field Service Associate to join a hands-on production and field service team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for constructing custom and standard wooden crates, pallets, and skids used to safely ship and transport products.
This role also includes traveling with the field service crew to build crates at customer or project locations. The ideal candidate is comfortable using saws, nail guns, drills, and other tools, can accurately read a tape measure, and is prepared for physically demanding work.
Required Experience & Skills
Experience using hand and power tools preferred
Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
Basic math and measurement skills
Ability to lift and handle 50+ lbs
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Dependable attendance and good time-management skills
Willingness to travel with the crew for field service assignments
Comfortable working in warehouse, shop, and field environments
Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Travel with the field service crew to complete crate-building assignments
Build custom and standard wooden crates, pallets, and skids
Repair existing crates and shipping structures as needed
Measure, mark, cut, and assemble lumber according to specifications
Read and follow blueprints, job orders, measurements, and customer requirements
Operate saws, nail guns, drills, hammers, staple guns, and related equipment
Secure products inside crates to help prevent movement or damage during transportation
Verify crate dimensions and construction before completion
Inspect finished crates for accuracy, durability, and structural integrity
Coordinate with warehouse, shipping, production, and field service personnel
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures
Perform additional crate-building and field service duties as assigned

Staple guns
Tape measures
Other woodworking and crate-building tools
Employees must have steel-toe footwear, a hammer, and a tape measure.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous crate-building experience
Carpentry or woodworking experience
Warehouse or manufacturing experience
Knowledge of lumber, wood materials, and fasteners
Blueprint or schematic reading experience
Forklift operating experience
Bilingual English/Spanish skills
Previous field service or traveling construction experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to regularly lift and handle 50+ lbs
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Ability to safely handle lumber and finished crates
Ability to perform repetitive physical work throughout the day
Manual dexterity required for measuring, cutting, fastening, and assembly work
Ability to safely operate hand and power tools while wearing required PPE
Work Environment
Combination of warehouse, manufacturing, and field service environments
Travel with the crew required for certain crate-building assignments
Regular exposure to lumber, wood dust, noise, saws, nail guns, and other powered equipment
Physically active position requiring frequent material handling and repetitive movement
Safety-focused environment requiring steel-toe footwear and proper PPE
