Hire Dynamics is seeking Crate Builder in a facility in Gastonia NC!

Job Title: Crate builder

Job Description: constructs custom wooden or metal containers used to safely package, transport, and store goods. They measure, cut, and assemble materials using hand and power tools, ensuring durability to protect heavy, oversized, or fragile items during shipping

Tasks to Perform:

• Design & Assembly: Read blueprints, work orders, or diagrams to determine the correct dimensions and specifications for each crate.
• Material Preparation: Measure and cut lumber or sheet materials using panel saws, chop saws, and skill saws.
• Fastening: Assemble crates, pallets, and skids using pneumatic nail guns, staple guns, drills, and impact drivers.
• Packing & Securing: Position, block, brace, and strap items securely into the crates. Add protective padding, such as foam or shrink-wrap, to prevent shifting and damage.
• Inventory & Documentation: Verify loaded parts, weigh packages, and properly label crates with handling instructions and shipping destinations

Qualifications:

• Carpentry & Tools: Proficiency with power saws, pneumatic nailers, and basic hand tools.
• Math Skills: Ability to accurately read a tape measure and calculate precise dimensions, angles, and volumes.
• to stand for long periods, frequently bend, squat, stretch, and lift heavy materials
• Certifications: Forklift or pallet jack certification is frequently required to maneuver heavy crates around the warehouse
