About this Position

The Creative Communications Specialist is a marketing professional in the Office of Communications and Marketing who supports OSU Agriculture through the execution of high-quality print, digital, and online materials. This position emphasizes strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within established brand guidelines, templates, and processes.

The role primarily focuses on graphic design and production of publications, with additional responsibilities supporting digital and web-related communications efforts as directed. The specialist will join an experienced creative and marketing team and collaborate with colleagues across OSU Agriculture to ensure materials are accurate, accessible, and aligned with organizational standards. 

This position requires interacting with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders, both internal and external to the organization. The duty reporting station is in person on the OSU campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's

    Agricultural communications, strategic communications, graphic design, marketing or related fields

    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • At least 1 year of experience as a graphic designer or communicator in a creative/communications role or professional agency. Internships may be considered.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

Valid Drivers License Reliable transportation for travel connected with official duties. Reimbursement for official travel.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Proven experience as a graphic designer or related role with a compelling portfolio
  • Ability to work within existing guidelines and designs to deliver cross-platform materials
  • A keen eye and proven skillset for visual composition, aesthetics and typography
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Basic understanding of marketing strategy, campaign creation and execution
  • Basic understanding of creating website content. Familiarity with website content management systems a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365
  • Proofreading to ensure accurate and high-quality work
  • Solid understanding of the Associated Press Stylebook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as customer service
  • A team player who values collaboration and a variety of opinions and ideas
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure a wide variety of projects are delivered on time and as scheduled
  • Ability to be resourceful, think and act quickly and adjust priorities if needed
  • Basic understanding of AI
  • Independent, creative problem-solver
  • Knowledge of agriculture a plus
