Description:
An apparel retailer is looking for a Director of Men's Design to lead the Men's Design team (2 direct reports) and develop brand-right, value product that translates into optimized commercial product delivered to customers. In this role, you will ensure product aesthetic, product quality, and costs are consistent with brand image and target customers while maintaining the financial performance of Design. The scope of responsibility covers all categories and requires heavy cross-functional collaboration with CAD and Graphic Design, Merchandising, and Production partners.

Requirements for the role:
Proven experience leading a men's design team in the apparel industry
Ability to develop brand-right, value product that is commercially optimized
Strong understanding of product aesthetic, product quality, and cost management consistent with brand image
Experience managing financial performance of a Design department
Heavy cross-functional collaboration experience with CAD, Graphic Design, Merchandising, and Production partners
Strong leadership and team management skills (2 direct reports)
Strategic thinking with ability to translate customer insights into product direction
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field (preferred)
8 12+ years of experience in men's apparel design, with leadership experience
Or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
