The ideal candidate is a hands-on creative professional who can work independently, manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain a high standard of visual storytelling. This role requires flexibility, including availability for nights, weekends, and special events as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Capture photography and video coverage for university events, programs, athletics-related activities, student life, academic initiatives, alumni events, and special projects.
  • Edit video content for social media, web, internal communications, promotional campaigns, recaps, livestream packages, and other creative needs.
  • Edit and organize photography for digital platforms, archives, marketing materials, and media distribution.
  • Assist with livestream production, including camera operation, basic audio support, switching support, setup, breakdown, and monitoring stream quality.
  • Support live event production needs, including video capture, content playback, basic technical setup, and coordination with event staff.
  • Manage post-production workflows, including file organization, footage transfer, asset labeling, project backups, and delivery of final content.
  • Supervise and coordinate student workers assigned to event coverage, media production, livestreaming, photography, videography, and post-production tasks.
  • Provide task direction, training, and feedback to student workers to ensure assignments are completed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Services team to support university branding, storytelling, marketing campaigns, and communications priorities.
  • Maintain creative equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, audio gear, tripods, storage media, and livestream equipment.
  • Ensure all content aligns with university brand standards, quality expectations, and departmental procedures.
  • Assist with scheduling coverage for events and coordinating creative assignments with internal departments.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as required for university events, special programs, and priority projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of livestream production workflows and event coverage.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced creative environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, especially related to file management and digital asset storage.
  • Ability to lead, train, and coordinate student workers or production assistants.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with faculty, staff, students, vendors, and campus partners.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and special events as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education, athletics, live events, marketing, communications, or a creative services environment.
  • Experience with Newtek, OBS, Blackmagic ATEM, Wirecast, vMix, NDI workflows, or similar livestream production tools.
  • Experience creating short-form social media content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience managing student teams, interns, or production crews.
