SUMMARY

Responsible for new and renewal credential application receiving, processing, making determinations, counseling, and communication with applicants. Apply skills and extensive knowledge of credential requirements in making determinations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processes Credential applications, reviews credential application materials, enters applicable information into DTP including accurate and detailed case notes. Requests additional information as needed.
  • Provides excellence in customer service/accurate communication skills. Answers questions in timely manner and documents accordingly.
  • Determine program eligibility and meet department accuracy expectations.
  • Works in partnership with team members in making credential determinations/reviewing complex applications with Senior Specialist.
  • Suggest more efficient processes to Senior Specialist.
  • Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

No supervisory responsibilities or duties.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Supervision several times per week with only moderate deviation from "routine".

 

Give an example of when and how this job may be required to develop alternative methods or variations in approaches to deal with unusual circumstances in the work.

 

  • There are times during the year, usually depending on the caseload, that duties may be paused to concentrate maximum efforts to ensure deliverables/outcomes are met.
  • Example: If a need for staff training arises to increase knowledge to award credentials through multiple methods, processing may cease to concentrate on this aspect. This brief pause in work will benefit the unit with shared understanding and new methods to award credentials more efficiently.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

An individual in this position is expected to learn and complete all assigned tasks within the designated program. An individual in this position is expected to complete all tasks with accuracy, as set within the Department. An individual in this position will need basic computer knowledge, strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to multi-task.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Completion of 4-years of high school and 3 years of experience. Preferred: two years of college and/or an associate degree.

 

EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE REQUIRED

Operating systems include/but not limited to: Communication systems such as regular use of Email, Phone, Microsoft Teams, Phones, scanners, Microsoft Office software; Specific training on INCCRRA's Data Tracking Program

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently. Spanish speaking and writing preferred.
