Credentialed Provider for Administrative Services (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant)
Location: Camp Beauregard, Pineville, LA and Jackson Barracks, New Orleans, LA
Employment Type: Part-Time (Two Days Per Month)
Travel: Local travel within Louisiana may be required to support Medical Readiness Events (MREs), Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) events, and other Louisiana Army National Guard (LAARNG) medical readiness activities. Overnight travel may occasionally be required.
Position Overview
Crossroads Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to serve as a Credentialed Provider for Administrative Services supporting the Louisiana Army National Guard (LAARNG) State Surgeon's Office. This highly specialized role provides clinical administrative support to the Deputy State Surgeon by reviewing medical documentation, evaluating Soldier medical readiness, and making recommendations regarding deployability, retention, profiles, and disability evaluation actions in accordance with Army regulations.
The Credentialed Provider serves as a trusted medical advisor responsible for reviewing complex medical cases, conducting Soldier interviews, documenting medical determinations, preparing Line of Duty recommendations, and supporting the Louisiana Army National Guard's medical readiness mission. This position combines medical expertise with administrative case management to ensure Service Members remain medically ready while maintaining compliance with Department of Defense and Army medical regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the credentialed medical provider supporting the Louisiana Army National Guard State Surgeon's Office.

Provide administrative medical support to the Deputy State Surgeon regarding Soldier medical readiness.

Review medical records and supporting documentation to determine medical readiness, retainability, and deployability.

Make recommendations regarding Soldier fitness for duty in accordance with Army Regulations (AR) 40-501 and AR 40-502.
-
Evaluate medical documentation and recommend appropriate actions through MAR2, Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), Non-Duty Related Physical Evaluation Board (NDR-PEB), and other disability evaluation processes.

Prepare draft Line of Duty (LOD) recommendations for review by the State Surgeon.

Conduct initial and follow-up interviews with Service Members regarding medical conditions, treatment, and readiness status.

Document all medical interactions, assessments, and recommendations within the Soldier's official medical record.

Create temporary medical profiles and initiate permanent profiles based on civilian or military medical documentation.

Route medical profiles for required second signatures and approval.

Review, complete, document, and electronically sign Medical Health Assessments.

Educate Service Members regarding their medical readiness responsibilities, available healthcare resources, and treatment options.

Maintain and utilize local healthcare resource information to assist Soldiers with obtaining necessary medical and dental care.

Conduct physical health assessments during Tier III Medical Readiness Events and other scheduled readiness events.

Identify behavioral health concerns requiring case management and submit required Behavioral Health reports through MEDCHART by established deadlines.

Assist the State Surgeon and Deputy State Surgeon in identifying Soldiers who may have been incorrectly classified as not fit for duty.

Prepare medical and administrative separation documentation for Soldiers determined to be medically unfit for continued military service.

Maintain proficiency in Army National Guard regulations, medical readiness policies, and evolving Department of Defense guidance.

Utilize military medical systems including MEDCHART, MODS, MEDPROS, and other electronic health systems.
-
Ensure all protected health information is handled in compliance with HIPAA, Army privacy regulations, and Department of Defense security requirements.

Participate in Medical Readiness Events (MREs), Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP), and other readiness missions as assigned.
-
Collaborate with case managers, medical readiness personnel, providers, and Government leadership to improve overall Soldier medical readiness.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Current licensure as either:
-
Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensed through the Louisiana State Board of Nursing; or
-
Physician Assistant (PA) licensed through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.

Current national certification appropriate to profession (including NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants).

Active, unrestricted Louisiana license in good standing.

Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in family practice, occupational medicine, military medicine, emergency medicine, internal medicine, or a related field.

Experience reviewing medical documentation and making clinical recommendations regarding fitness for duty.

Working knowledge of military medical readiness programs, disability evaluations, and medical profiling preferred.

Experience documenting patient encounters within electronic medical record systems.

Strong clinical judgment and analytical decision-making skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic health record systems.

Ability to obtain and maintain required installation access, Common Access Card (CAC), and Government background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Previous experience supporting the Department of Defense, Army National Guard, or military treatment facilities.

Knowledge of AR 40-501, AR 40-502, AR 40-66, MEDPROS, MEDCHART, MODS, and military medical readiness systems.

Experience with Medical Evaluation Boards (MEB), Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES), Line of Duty (LOD) determinations, and Soldier medical profiling.

Familiarity with HIPAA, Department of Defense privacy requirements, and military healthcare regulations.

Prior experience supporting Government healthcare contracts.
Work Schedule

Services are performed twice each month:
- Second Thursday: Camp Beauregard, Pineville, Louisiana
- Third Thursday: Jackson Barracks, New Orleans, Louisiana

Additional support may be required for approved Medical Readiness Events and other mission requirements.
