Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Credentialing intern to join our team. The Credentialing intern will be responsible for verifying healthcare professionals’ credentials, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with DEA, state licensing, and malpractice insurance enrollment and/or renewals.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify healthcare providers’ credentials, including licensure, education, training, and relevant certifications

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing records for all healthcare professionals

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements

• Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to gather necessary credentialing information

• Assist in resolving any credentialing issues or discrepancies in a timely manner

• Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives related to credentialing processes

Requirements & Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

• Proven experience in medical credentialing within a healthcare setting

• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards

• Proficient in using credentialing software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Prior experience with DEA, state licensing, and malpractice insurance enrollment or renewals
