ABOUT THE ROLE

This Credit Officer opportunity sits within the Credit department of a well-established financial institution, focused on the preparation and review of credit assessments across commercial real estate and commercial loan transactions. The role offers broad exposure to the full credit underwriting process from initial application review and appraisal analysis through credit memo preparation, loan documentation review, and post-closing compliance making it a solid platform for a detail-oriented credit professional looking to deepen their underwriting expertise in a structured, process-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review credit applications and all supporting documentation including appraisal reports, environmental reports, rent rolls, lease agreements, preliminary title reports, financial statements, tax returns, and corporate documents
  • Complete appraisal reviews for new loan applications and prepare credit assessments for new credit proposals and renewals
  • Communicate with frontline teams to collect required documents, process loans, and revise credit proposals as needed
  • Recommend commercial loan and trade service transactions in the loan management system, including collateral, customer rating, facility rating, credit limits, and loan advances
  • Review and update pipeline reporting and tracking systems for new loan activity
  • Conduct post-closing call backs and complete required closing checklists following new loan bookings
  • Participate in property inspections as required
  • Review loan documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and bank policy
  • Maintain completeness and organization of credit files with current information saved in designated systems
  • Support loan reviews and audits including credit file readiness preparation
  • Own and proactively manage risk exposures through ongoing identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting to senior management
