ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Credit Risk Analyst opportunity within the Credit Risk Analysis function of a well-established global financial institution, focused on independent credit analysis and recommendation of counterparty credit exposures proposed by business units across the Americas. The role is assigned to a Diversified Corporate coverage team offering broad sector exposure across a range of corporate borrowers while also providing support on ad hoc portfolio and research projects as needed. It's an ideal fit for a credit-trained analyst with 3+ years of experience who combines strong financial statement analysis skills with the ability to write clear, well-structured credit recommendations and work effectively under the supervision of senior credit officers in a deadline-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review credit requests generated by the Front Office for completeness;interface with originators to obtain additional documents, cash flow projections, industry data, and other information necessary for thorough risk assessment
  • Write comprehensive credit analyses evaluating borrower balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements and projections, transaction structure, exposure size, and key risks and mitigants
  • Review and recommend borrower credit ratings using the bank's internal rating model
  • Work with the supervising Sector Head to determine final credit recommendations for presentation to Senior Management and Credit Committee
  • Manage completion of credit files under the supervision of the Sector Head to ensure timely delivery against deadlines
  • Verify data inputs including risk ratings and profitability assumptions within internal databases;work with commercial units to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Support ad hoc portfolio and counterparty research requests as assigned
