This new hire will work in Regional Distribution Center, located at 1550 MS 302 in Byhalia, MS. The Crew Lead will report to the Warehouse Team Manager.

Crew Leader I

Through direction of and participation with functional Distribution team, ensures overall performance of team to meet all scorecard metrics and OGSMs for cost, quality, service, safety, sustainability, organization health, sanitation, and Distribution reliability. Supports the growth of the High Performance Work System and drives continuous improvement. Responsible for conducting safety IFFs; to include root cause analysis and corrective actions, and various safety training. Participates in cross-functional problem solving and process improvement activities. Investigates & communicates root cause failure analysis, including recommending and implementing resolutions. Ensures that all activities follow documented operating procedures and recommends updates to existing procedures as required. Coordinates & schedules team member vacation requests & overtime as required. Other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for coordination of distribution functional team activities. Assist with Crew Leader duties in other distribution functional areas, as needed. Monitor the movement of materials to ensure that all internal/external customer needs are met.
  • Ensure all activities of team members adhere to standard operating procedures. Facilitate teamwork among team members and across functions. Ensure HRPP, safety and GMP rules are followed. Coach and develop team members. Schedule team members' vacation and arrange for coverage whenever employees are out.
  • Conduct meetings - daily for distribution updates; weekly for problem solving; monthly for development of team. Participates in cross-functional problem solving meetings.
  • Performs root cause analysis for process improvement and/or process failures.
  • Responsible for updating all process documentation in conjuction with Management and HR.
  • Ensure all job specific training, cross training opportunities, individual and team growth and development for team members.
  • Manage temp workforce in respective area including timekeeping duties.
  • Work with direct supervisor to accomplish personal growth and development plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum level of education required GED
  • Three years warehouse or manufacturing experience.
  • Two years or more of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Forklift Certification
