SummaryCrew Leader II, under the general supervision of the Parks Foreman, oversees the overall maintenance of athletic fields and support facilities and supervises and assists crew members in accomplishing assigned tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides instructional supervision to ballfield maintenance crew members to ensure proper maintenance of assigned athletic facilitiesReports any maintenance items needing repairs by inputting them in MaintracKeeps all athletic fields free of trash and debris and performs general turf care, including sod cutting, repair seeding, and wateringCreates a water schedule for all athletic fields and inspects irrigation systems monthly, reporting any repairs neededEnsures routine maintenance is done on all equipment and tools before useAssists in the daily general athletic field maintenance, including dragging & lining fields, setting bases, watering infields, and ensuring restrooms are clean and stockedCollaborates with vendors and suppliers to discuss products used in repair work and ordering any supplies neededPrepares daily assignments for staffCollaborates with league coordinators to identify the fields needed for play during the playing season.Works with leagues to create a prioritized list of off-season maintenance projects, submitting it to the foreman for final approvalSupports City-sponsored special events and tournaments as assignedFollows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalentTwo (2) years of experience in ballfield maintenance, landscaping, irrigation, or related fieldOne (1) year of experience in a lead or supervisory roleSix (6) months of experience working with irrigation systems
Certifications and Licenses
Valid driver's licenseTDA non-commercial applicators license or the ability to obtain license within six (6) months of employment
