Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Painter to oversee painting projects, lead crews, and ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires both hands-on expertise and leadership ability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise painting crews (typically 2–10+ employees)
  • Coordinate daily job site operations and workflow
  • Read and interpret project plans, scopes, and specifications
  • Prepare surfaces (scraping, sanding, patching, priming)
  • Apply paints, stains, and coatings using brush, roller, and spray equipment
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and meet company quality standards
  • Train and mentor crew members
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members
  • Inspect completed work and perform touch-ups as needed

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional painting experience (residential and/or commercial)
  • Proven leadership or crew lead experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment
  • Experience with spraying equipment is required
  • Ability to manage time, crews, and multiple tasks efficiently
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work on ladders/scaffolding/lifts
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • OSHA/safety knowledge is a plus
