Our RootsSharyland Water Supply Corporation was established in May of 1968 for the purpose of providing safe, affordable drinking water to the rural communities in and around Mission, McAllen, and Edinburg. We continue to strive in that endeavor.Sharyland Water Supply Corporation was created by a group of determined, community-minded men in the 1960's. With the help of Farmers Home Administration, a loan was acquired and construction began to build a rural water system. Initially, 700 property owners committed to take water service once construction was complete. Today, more than 50 years later, there are over 19,000 water connections on the system.The Corporation has approximately 100 square miles of Certified Area, 800 miles of water lines, three water plants, four elevated storage tanks and plans for additional water system improvements in the works.The Corporation has over 100 employees and a 7 person Board of Directors, all of whom are dedicated to the job required to ensure that Sharyland Water Supply Corporation continues to be the best it can be.Lead the LineAs Crew Leader, you’ll drive high-impact field execution across our water distribution system—keeping crews aligned, work moving, and standards met. This is a performance-driven, working leadership role focused on safe, compliant results.Key responsibilities:- Plan daily work, coordinate staffing, and assign tasks to meet schedules- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and skills training for crew members- Enforce safety practices, maintain situational awareness, and support regulatory compliance- Monitor quality, productivity, and job completion; address issues quickly in the field- Document work and communicate updates using basic computer toolsRequired qualifications/skills:- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making- Clear written/verbal communication and solid interpersonal skills- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and evaluate performance- High safety awareness and knowledge of applicable regulationsIf you’re ready to be accountable for measurable outcomes and recognition and rewards that follow results, apply today.How Your Day RunsYou start in Alton with a quick huddle to align on priorities, then head out with the crew to active sites across the service area. Throughout the day you stay visible—checking progress, removing roadblocks, and resetting the plan when conditions change. You’ll balance pace with precision, keeping an eye on safety in real time and ensuring the team’s output matches expectations. Between stops, you coordinate with the supervisor, handle field questions, and close out notes so tomorrow’s work can launch cleanly.
