About this Job
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is responsible for investigating criminal activity in the State of Louisiana. CID is comprised of both Detectives and Narcotics investigators. CID operates in three (3) Regions throughout the state, which follow the same geographical lines as the Patrol Regions. In addition to the CID Headquarters, several field offices are maintained in strategic locations throughout the state.
The Criminal Investigator position functions to conduct criminal, administrative, and regulatory investigations, and may conduct surveillance of known and suspected criminal targets for purposes of intelligence gathering and investigation.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in investigatory work while employed as a commissioned law enforcement officer plus one of the following:
Two years of experience in law enforcement, investigatory work or military intelligence work; OR
Twelve hours in law enforcement or a criminal justice field.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license.
Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
An applicant will be disqualified if he or she has been convicted of a felony or if there are any indictments or bills of information pending against him or her in which felony charges are included; or if he or she has been convicted within the past three years of hit and run or driving while intoxicated.
