Definition of Class
- Oversees and directs duties as a whole in the Office of Clerk of Courts. Supervises employees.
Duties & Responsibilities
- All 113 duties, plus: Provides direction to staff and assigns work. Discusses, plans, and cooperates with other offices, whose work may affect the operation of the Clerk of Courts Office. Administers oaths to elected and appointed persons. Carries out directions from Department Head.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of Clerk of Courts operation and functions. Advanced knowledge of office machines and practices. Ability to perform all functions of the office and train various other office personnel. Ability to interpret legal language. Working knowledge of legal procedures. Ability to deal effectively with the public. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates. Accuracy in record keeping and figures. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of Experience in Office Work relating to the Criminal Court System
- Must be able to Type a Minimum of 50 Words Per Minute with Accuracy
