UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a Crisis Clinician to support our Center for Hope & Healing on a casual/as-needed basis.
The Center for Hope & Healing is a residential crisis service facility where we provide support for adults with mental health illnesses and addictions. This position will work varying shifts.
- Candidates will be placed in appropriate job title based on education/experience. Minimum pay rate is $19.67/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Assist consumers in developing a crisis plan.
- Provide follow-up services to consumers by phone and/or mobile visits.
- Provide insight & knowledge of insurance programs, processes and able to obtain authorizations as needed.
- Support consumer and negotiates appropriate referral services.
- Work efficiently and independently in a crisis setting.
- Utilize specific techniques of motivational interviewing.
- Provide crisis services in a community and/or office setting.
- Provide supportive counseling to consumers to promote stability.
- Complete consumer/family crisis assessments (face-to-face and telephone.
- Manage crisis situations effectively using positive approaches.
- Meet standards for documentation and completes all required paperwork.
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work with three years clinical experience or Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work required for the Crisis Clinician I job title.
- Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience.
