Are you passionate about helping others? Do you know someone that is affected by mental health issues? If so, then we are looking to talk with you!

West Central has developed a new innovative program that will provide Mobile Crisis Outreach to individuals 24 hours a day/7 days a week! The primary goal with this program is to assist individuals with a mental illness before they end up in a significant crisis and require hospitalization.

West Central Behavioral Mobile Crisis is looking to hire an individual(s) who are interested working on this team, specifically the overnight shifts from 11 p.m. -7 a.m. in either of our two locations in Newport/Claremont or Lebanon New Hampshire. We are looking for individuals to help those in need during these times when other service providers are not available.

The Mobile Crisis Team works closely with other Community Health Centers, area Police Department, and other community-based delivery systems. This will all occur within a two-person team. As a part of this team you will rapidly evaluate complex behavioral health situations; develop, recommend and support clinically appropriate crisis interventions to be implemented with individual clients, their families, and a wide variety of community helpers, including law enforcement and EMS personnel.

To do this, we need passionate and dedicated Bachelor-level Counselors. We will consider candidates with Bachelor's Degrees in Progress (Counselors) if they have relevant experience in mobile crisis/mental health and are in school for the appropriate degree. For the case managers who already have a full-time job, but believe in our mission, there are also first, second and third shifts available.

A Crisis Counselor develops meaningful and trusting relationships with clients, acts as a mentor, and gives consumers the support they need to better advocate for themselves, based on their personal experiences. The Crisis Counselor provides clients an example of what they can strive for in their recovery and works as a part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • As a member of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team provides peer support services to individuals in crisis in the community and in homes.
  • Uses own life experiences to engage individuals in crisis, assist individual with engaging in services and supports, and development of an individualized recovery plan.
  • Plays an advocacy role, provides transportation, and promotes self-care, illness self-management, and wellness and recovery.

Who We're Looking For

One of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related mental health discipline, or
  • Personal experience with mental health recovery, or close experience supporting a family member, friend, or loved one through it

Plus:

  • High School Diploma/GED (minimum, if pursuing the experience-based path)
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience - personal or professional
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Comfortable with technology, including electronic health records
  • Reliable transportation and ability to access all agency sites
