Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you'll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.
Your Impact
Global Security plays a critical role in protecting Axon''s people, facilities, operations, and reputation. As the Crisis Management Program Manager, you will build and lead the programs that enable the organization to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive events.
Serving as the operational heartbeat and connective tissue across Global Security and key business partners; including Legal, HR, Workplace, Communications, IT, Manufacturing, and Executive Leadership, you will establish the frameworks, governance, and relationships that transform crisis management from a reactive function into a strategic enterprise capability.
This is a unique opportunity to build a program from the ground up, influence executive decision-making, and help shape the future of Global Security at one of the world''s most innovative technology companies.
What You''ll Do
Build Axon''s Preparedness Program
This role offers a unique opportunity to build a capability that will shape how Axon prepares for and responds to critical events around the world. Working across Global Security and key business partners, you will design and mature the frameworks, governance, and operational standards that enable coordinated, confident decision-making when it matters most. Success in this role will be measured not only by how effectively crises are managed, but by how well the organization is prepared before they occur.
In this role, you will:
Lead Enterprise Crisis Coordination
When critical events occur, effective coordination becomes just as important as the response itself. In this role, you will provide the structure, leadership, and operational discipline that enable cross-functional teams to respond as one. By establishing clear decision-making frameworks, escalation protocols, and communication pathways, you will help ensure the right people are engaged at the right time with the information they need to make informed decisions.
Working alongside the GSOC, Physical Security, Threat Intelligence, Workplace, HR, Legal, Communications, IT, Manufacturing, and Executive Leadership, you will help orchestrate coordinated responses that minimize operational disruption, protect our people, and strengthen confidence across the organization.
In this role, you will:
Strengthen Executive Decision-Making
During rapidly evolving situations, timely information and thoughtful coordination can significantly influence business outcomes. In this role, you will help transform complex, fast-moving events into clear, actionable intelligence that enables leaders to make informed decisions with confidence. Working closely with the Crisis Management Team (CMT), GSOC, Threat Intelligence, and executive stakeholders, you will ensure decision-makers have the right information, at the right time, in the right format.
In this role, you will:
Build Trusted Partnerships Across Axon
Effective crisis management begins long before an incident occurs. Success in this role will depend on your ability to build trusted relationships across the organization, creating alignment before critical decisions need to be made. You''ll become a recognized partner to leaders throughout Axon, helping departments understand how preparedness strengthens business continuity, supports operational excellence, and enables the company to respond with confidence during times of uncertainty.
Through collaboration, influence, and credibility, you''ll strengthen Global Security''s position as a trusted business partner while fostering a shared culture of preparedness across the enterprise.
You will:
Advance Preparedness Through Technology & Innovation
Technology plays a critical role in enabling effective crisis management, but its true value lies in how it simplifies decision-making, strengthens situational awareness, and enhances organizational preparedness. In this role, you will continuously evaluate and improve the tools, processes, and technologies that support Axon''s Crisis Management Program, ensuring they evolve alongside the company''s growth and operational needs.
You''ll help shape the future of crisis management by identifying opportunities to leverage automation, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and emerging technologies that improve readiness, reduce complexity, and enable faster, more informed decision-making across the enterprise.
In this role, you will:
Champion Continuous Learning & Organizational Resilience
The strongest crisis management programs are built on continuous learning, not perfect execution. Every exercise, incident, and emerging threat presents an opportunity to strengthen Axon''s preparedness and improve how we operate. In this role, you will foster a culture of learning by capturing insights, challenging existing assumptions, and translating experience into meaningful improvements that increase organizational resilience over time.
You''ll help ensure that preparedness is never static; continuously evolving our frameworks, processes, and capabilities as Axon grows, technology advances, and the global risk landscape changes.
In this role, you will:
What You Bring
The Leader We''re Looking For
Building an enterprise crisis management capability requires more than technical expertise. We''re looking for a builder; someone who thrives in ambiguity, earns trust through relationships, and sees opportunities where others see obstacles. You''ll be equally comfortable briefing executives, facilitating cross-functional planning sessions, improving operational processes, and leading the organization through complex events with confidence and composure.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational excellence, understanding that the strongest crisis management programs are built long before they''re needed.
Experience That Will Help You Thrive
Building an enterprise crisis management capability requires a unique combination of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and relationship leadership. While no candidate will possess every experience listed below, the most successful leaders will bring a demonstrated ability to build programs, influence across organizations, and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments where ambiguity is an opportunity rather than a barrier.
Experience that will help you thrive includes:
Education & Core Qualifications
Rather than treating qualifications as a checklist, we value demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, and a proven ability to build and influence enterprise programs. If your experience aligns with the mission of this role, we encourage you to apply-even if your background doesn''t match every qualification exactly.
Core qualifications include:
Certifications & Experience That Differentiate You
Experience in any of the following areas will help accelerate your success in this role:
How You Lead
The most successful leaders in this role combine humility with confidence, strategy with execution, and preparation with action. They build trust through relationships, remain composed under pressure, and inspire confidence by bringing clarity to complexity.
You don''t need to have all the answers-you need to know how to bring the right people together to solve the right problems.
You''ll thrive in this role if you:
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role isn''t measured by the number of incidents you manage-it''s measured by how prepared Axon becomes because of the capability you''ve built.
Within your first 12 to 18 months, you''ll establish the foundation of a world-class Crisis Management Program that strengthens executive decision-making, improves organizational preparedness, and reinforces Global Security as a trusted enterprise partner.
You''ll know you''re successful when:
Don't meet every single requirement? That''s ok. At Axon, we Aim Far. We think big with a long-term view because we want to reinvent the world to be a safer, better place. We are also committed to building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve.
