Position Summary: The Crisis Manager provides clinical and operational supervision over the Crisis teams who are responsible for completing crisis assessments for patients in hospital and community settings. The Crisis Manager helps develop staff to provide excellent customer service, interventions, documentation skills, and problem solving ability.

Provides documented clinical and administrative oversight to crisis staff according to Arizona State, Gila River Community, and departmental requirements. Works with BHS Management Team on departmental and community initiatives.

Critical Tasks:

  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills while interacting with staff, residents and visitors.
  • Demonstrates effective skill in crisis intervention and has the ability to train other staff in crisis intervention.
  • Performs crisis intervention for patients in urgent need of care.
  • Conducts behavioral health assessments and recommends psychiatric hospitalizations, as needed.
  • Writes petitions for involuntary treatment and creates documentation in EHR.
  • Manages the Crisis Program as a whole: development of the program, data collection, program budgeting, and supervising Crisis staff
  • Provides referrals for outpatient services.
  • Collaborates with medical staff and GRHC departments and Community entities; such as Tribal Social Services (TSS), OGC, DRS, and Police Department (PD).
  • Performs other job-related activities as requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or a closely related field of study preferred, plus 3 years of experience in the Behavioral Health field or a closely related field of study.
  • Current independent license from Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as either, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LISAC required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of crisis experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Current and continuing BLS training and certifications preferred.
  • State of Arizona driver's license with no significant violations during the last 5 years.
  • Current State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance card required.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
  • Current and continuing CPR/AED training and certifications within 1 year in position.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
