Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 1 month within the last 6 months.

• 3 months of Epic experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - MultiCare Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - MultiCare Health System.

Required Skills/Experience: Will take first-time travelers with strong ICU and previous float pool experience. Cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent and BiPAP management, invasive line management, ostomy, general drains, traches, chest tubes, lumbar drains, and IV medication titration.

Required Credentials: If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

Special Requests: Any RTO or special requests not included on your application will not be considered. You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit and shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit and facility. Time off requests for more than 5 days require manager approval.

Unit Details: Cares for COVID patients and neuro, trauma, medical, and surgical cases, including sepsis, pneumonia, DKA, DTs, multi-system failure, spinal injuries, pre/post cath patients (radial approach), general surgery patients, respiratory compromise, CHF, COPD, GSW, stabbings, MVA, strokes, TBI, and various back surgeries. CVICU may include 24h post-op CABG (10/wk.), esophagectomy, TAVR (3/wk.), AAA repair, thoracic and vascular surgeries, and post arrest. Travelers are not expected to care for fresh CABG/TAVR, EVDs, post TPA, or any devices (ECMO, IABP, Impella, hypothermia protocol). ER Holding follows the patient’s level of care for staffing ratios.

Shift & Scheduling: Schedule is typically made for 3 weeks at a time and comes out 7-10 days prior. Every other weekend. Could work back-to-back weekends (rare). No self-scheduling and no guarantee of a patterned schedule.

Floating Requirements: Floats within Tacoma General to Neuro/Trauma/Medical/Cardiac ICU, CCU (cardiac step down), PCU/ACC, ED Holding, Med Surg units, and any open surge areas for those units as needed. May also float to Allenmore Hospital as needed; travelers should be notified in advance.

14 days maximum time off

2 Manager references required from within the last 12 months
