The Job

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is hiring for Critical Care Nurse Educator - Medical Imaging*. This position will be responsible for devising and implementing staff development, continuing education, orientation and mandatory in-service programs in Medical Imaging specialty areas. Duties will include but are not limited to: Coordinating and presenting mandatory in-service and competency programs; developing and implementing training in the use of new products and equipment; maintaining pertinent continuing education, records and reports for licensing agencies and department records; determining educational needs and plans and implements programs to meet these needs; training staff in the use of new and updated procedures and techniques; developing the necessary training and preparing instructional materials; and writing and updating policies and procedures.

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation and verification of employment history and education.

Availability: Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule as education and training may be provided to hospital staff on all shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Certifications: Nurse Educators may be required to obtain additional certifications depending on the needs of the department and assignments.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess all of the following:

LICENSEMust possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.EDUCATIONA Bachelors of Science in Nursing.EXPERIENCEThree (3) years (within the past five years) of full-time experience as a Registered Nurse in which one (1) year must be in Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, or Cardiac Diagnostics.Substitution

A Masters Degree in Nursing may substitute for one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse. There is no substitution for the one (1) year experience in a Specialty Care Unit.

CERTIFICATION/ COURSESMust Possess And Maintain The Following:

  • Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
  • Critical Care Course or Critical Care RN Certification

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Nursing or closely related and over five (5) years of experience teaching in an acute care setting with experience in putting together curriculums for adult learners. This candidate will have exceptional leadership qualities, excellent communication abilities, and have in-depth, comprehensive knowledge in their given field.
