Job Summary:

Additionally, under the direct supervision of licensed nurses, the patient care associate III performs various duties to assist in the care of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.  These duties include, but are not limited to, bathing, mouth care, ambulation assistance, toilet assistance, feeding, measuring vital signs and blood glucose, transporting, ECG and phlebotomy.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Perform basic patient care with minimal supervision and within established policies Accurately check and record vital signs Collect specimens as directed Promptly answer call lights and provide necessary assistance in a timely manner Report patient changes, problems, complaints or requests to appropriate personnel Assist in the maintenance of equipment Perform Electrocardiogram (ECG) Perform phlebotomy

Qualifications:

Education:  High school graduate or GED.

 

Experience: Previous experience preferred.

• Understands technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals and labels
• Uses eyes, ears, hands and fingers with skill

• Able to care for patients of all ages
• Current in BLS
