Join Our Mission

As we continue to expand our operations, we're searching for a skilled Critical Facility Engineer – Controls SME to join our team.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead SCADA & Controls Engineer to own the design, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our industrial controls platform across mission-critical data center facilities.

This position is responsible for the complete controls technology stack—from field devices and PLC hardware to the Ignition SCADA platform, databases, networking, and operator interfaces. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable troubleshooting a communications issue on a managed switch, modifying PLC logic, configuring an Ignition Gateway, or training operations personnel.

This is not a traditional PLC programming position. We are looking for a systems engineer who understands how all components of a modern industrial controls system work together.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain SCADA, PLC, and industrial control systems across multiple facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve controls, networking, and communications issues.
  • Develop and maintain PLC and SCADA applications.
  • Support commissioning, system upgrades, and control system enhancements.
  • Maintain system documentation, backups, and standards.
  • Collaborate with operations, vendors, and engineering teams to improve system reliability.
  • Provide after-hours support during critical events as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial controls or automation experience
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-based control systems
  • Experience with a SCADA platform (Ignition preferred)
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, BACnet, or OPC-UA)
  • Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and sequence of operations
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

Preferred

  • Ignition Gateway administration
  • Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix
  • SQL Server or PostgreSQL
  • Data center or mission-critical facility experience
  • VMware or Hyper-V
  • Windows Server
  • Delta Controls
  • Power monitoring systems
  • Fiber networking
  • OT cybersecurity
