Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field EngineeringJob ID: 10390542 | Amazon Data Services, Inc.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide full life‑cycle support to AWS data centers, from design inception through site improvement and maintenance.Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.Support operational issues with ad‑hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including critical equipment, and event support.Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design‑solutions that add capacity, improve availability, increase efficiency and sustainability.Interface with internal teams (operations, design engineering, server hardware, environmental health & safety) to promote consistency and reliability.Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers.Manage concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.Initiate and lead engineering audits, including on‑site visits; produce risk reports with recommended mitigations.Act as resident engineer during new construction projects; support construction, commissioning, and turnover.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.3+ cumulative years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering (e.g., data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities).Preferred QualificationsBasic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical equipment/design related to data centers (e.g., UPS, diesel generators, switchgear, power distribution units, VFDs, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, fans, air economizers, water treatment).Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission‑critical facilities, especially data centers.Experience as resident engineer or hands‑on (in the field) design consultant or owner's engineer.Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, submittal documents, and applicable building codes.Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment/mass production.Data analytics skills, data querying skills/language, scripting, and comfort with working in large volumes of data.Salary & BenefitsBase salary range: 116,800.00 – 160,000.00 USD annually (USA, TX, Lubbock).
