IDR is seeking a Critical Operations Engineer I to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Secaucus, NY. This role is vital in maintaining and troubleshooting large-scale mechanical and electrical systems within a critical operations environment. The company operates within the data center or facilities infrastructure industry, focusing on high-reliability systems and processes.

Position Overview for the Critical Operations Engineer I:

  • Responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex HVAC and electrical systems in a critical facility.
  • Supports continuous operations by diagnosing system issues such as chilled water, cooling towers, and generators.
  • Collaborates with team members to ensure system efficiency and safety compliance during night shift hours.
  • Assists in monitoring system performance and implementing preventative maintenance measures.
  • Works within a fast-paced environment requiring technical expertise and attention to detail.

Requirements for the Critical Operations Engineer I:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems including chilled water systems, large centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
  • Proven experience with water treatment systems, VFD’s, pumps, and HVAC equipment.
  • Knowledge of BMS and PLC controls, emergency diesel generator systems, and electrical distribution setups.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair IT hardware, servers, and structured cabling.
  • High School Diploma or greater; 2-5 years of experience in the data center industry, with the ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
