Critical Operations Technician I (Military & Veteran Talent Welcome)

Position Overview

LHH is seeking a Critical Operations Technician I to join our client's Facilities Operations team. This position is ideal for transitioning military personnel, veterans, and individuals with experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, or supporting mission-critical systems and equipment.

In this role, you will help ensure the continuous operation of critical infrastructure within our data centers, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and IT systems. You will work in a highly structured environment where safety, reliability, and operational readiness are top priorities.

Location: On-site (24/7/365 operations environment)

Schedule: Shift-based operations supporting continuous facility coverage

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain critical facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and IT infrastructure.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and perform equipment checks to ensure operational readiness.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with repairs to minimize downtime and maintain mission continuity.

  • Install, maintain, and support server racks, cabling, cabinets, fiber infrastructure, and customer equipment.

  • Process maintenance work orders and accurately document completed work in company systems.

  • Respond to facility alarms, operational incidents, customer requests, and emergency situations.

  • Utilize established procedures and change management processes to safely perform maintenance activities.

  • Follow safety protocols for handling tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.

  • Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and ticketing system documentation.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to support data center operations and customer needs.

Qualifications

Required

  • Two or more years of technical training, military training, trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, facilities maintenance, IT hardware, telecommunications, or related technical systems.

  • Ability to follow technical procedures, safety protocols, and operational documentation.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computer-based reporting systems.

Preferred

  • Experience in a data center, industrial plant, manufacturing facility, utility, telecommunications environment, military operations center, or other mission-critical setting.

  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and technical troubleshooting.
