Job Description
. Attend and provide coverage for high-risk deliveries and neonatal stabilization in accordance within NRP guidelines.
- Evaluate and identify patients meeting Special Care Nursery (SCN) admission criteria.
- Provide evidence-based care to infants admitted to the SCN:
- Obtain, record, and interpret complete health history.
- Perform comprehensive physical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic data, and plan management in consultation with the attending neonatologist.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per established protocols.
- Coordinate discharge/transfer to tertiary care facilities.
- Communicate and provide support to families.
- Collaborate with Case Management and ancillary staff for optimal care and discharge planning.
- Assist with the education of the RN staff in the SCN as needed.
- Support the ED and Newborn Service in neonatal patient care management.
- Participate in monthly OB/SCN /Newborn meetings to align care and improve outcomes
