Position Summary
Become part of our team! The Wausau School District is seeking a Middle School Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse academic and behavioral needs. This position provides specially designed instruction, collaborates with IEP teams, and supports inclusive practices within the high school setting.
Qualifications
Experience working with Special Education students
Experience supporting students with significant behavioral needs
Experience writing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
Knowledge of math and reading interventions
Experience integrating technology into instruction
Knowledge of PBIS and restorative practices
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
Ability to build positive rapport with students and staff
Experience conducting educational assessments
Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training preferred
Essential Duties
Provide specially designed instruction aligned to IEP goals
Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
Implement behavioral supports and intervention strategies
Participate in IEP meetings and maintain family communication
Promote inclusive practices and positive student engagement
