    Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher

    Position Summary

    Become part of our team! The Wausau School District is seeking Elementary Cross-Categorical Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. These positions will provide specially designed instruction, collaborate with IEP teams, and support inclusive practices within the school setting.

    Qualifications

    • Experience working with Special Education students

    • Experience supporting students with significant behavioral needs

    • Experience writing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs

    • Knowledge of math and reading interventions

    • Experience integrating technology into instruction

    • Knowledge of PBIS and restorative practices

    • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment

    • Ability to build positive rapport with students and staff

    • Experience conducting educational assessments

    • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training preferred

    Essential Duties

    • Provide specially designed instruction aligned to IEP goals

    • Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation

    • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff

    • Implement behavioral supports and intervention strategies

    • Participate in IEP meetings and family communication

    • Support inclusive practices and positive school climate
