Cross-Categorical Special Education eacher - LaGrange Elementary
The Tomah School District is seeking an innovative educator who can work collaboratively with colleagues, develop positive relationships with students and parents, and build partnerships with the community. This position requires a dynamic and progressive teacher who has a strong background in: 1) WiMLSS, 2) Professional Learning Communities, 3) Team Teaching, 4) Universal Design for Learning or inclusive Tier 1 Practices, and 5) Elementary Teacher Literacy Training (Act 20) Documentation. The preferred candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized, demonstrate a positive attitude, and be willing to co-serve with a general education teacher. Knowledge of special education programs, processes, and procedures is required. The candidate will consult with other IEP team members, teachers, and parent and assist in the preparation of an IEP. For each identified student, the candidate will: test and evaluate programs for measuring aptitude, achievement and interests of students and assist the instructional staff so programs can be developed or modified to meet the needs of each student. The candidate would bring experience or a willinness to learn around serving students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, communcation needs, and/or cognitive, intellectual and learning disabilities.
This is a full-time position beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Co-curricular coaching and advisor positions are available.
Qualifications: Must have, or must receive prior to the first day of work, appropriate licensure for the position as determined by state law and the District. Please upload a copy of your license.
