Greenfield Middle School is seeking a full-time Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
The ideal candidate must:
Possess a valid Wisconsin teaching license for middle school Special Education
Continuously reflect on their current practices, looking for next steps and opportunities to enhance student learning.
Have a passion for working with students who struggle in traditional learning environments.
Be able to think creatively and flexibility when problem solving.
Have a strong ability to collaborate as part of team to meet student needs.
Create meaningful relationships with students and families, including collaboration with community agencies, wrap around, community therapists and social workers, and case workers.
Develop genuine connections with students by recognizing their unique needs; and highlighting varied ability in academic and behavioral skill, vocational skill, cognitive ability, and level of independence.
Challenge and stretch student thinking, encouraging an excitement for learning by instilling a sense of ownership and independence in students.
Utilize a variety of assessment methods to obtain accurate evidence of student learning and growth.
Be effective in co-teaching, including a positive, collaborative, problem solving and student-centered mindset.
Desire to work with colleagues in a professional learning community setting to ensure the needs of all students are met.
Design, develop and deliver student-centered lessons utilizing a broad range of effective, personalized techniques and strategies.
Provide diverse students the guided opportunities to grow 21st Century skills such as self-directed learning, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, well-being, global competence and communication.
Assist and collaborate in supporting students in job placements.
Possess a basic understanding of special education policies and practices, and be skilled in the development of IEPs.
Be committed to the middle school community beyond the classroom.
