About the Role

Are you passionate about helping middle school students navigate their most transformative years? CESA #5 is seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and skilled 7th/8th Grade Special Education Teacher to join our team.

In this role, you will serve as a special education teacher in the Pardeeville Area School District providing vital, direct instructional and behavioral support to students with diverse learning needs-serving students with Cross-Categorical needs, including Emotional and Behavioral Disability (EBD), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), and Autism-as indicated by their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). If you excel at building strong relationships, managing a dynamic classroom, and advocating for student success, we want you on our team!

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Classroom Management

  • Deliver approved curriculum and develop tailored lesson plans to meet individual student needs.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment optimized for student behavior and learning.
  • Direct and collaborate with the paraprofessionals assigned to your classroom to maximize student support.

IEP Development & Data Tracking

  • Collect precise data regarding student progress and observations based on Agency expectations.
  • Participate actively in student screenings, evaluations, meetings, and the development of IEPs.
  • Maintain meticulous records for enrollment, projected enrollment, child counts, and other mandated data for billing and reporting.

Collaboration & Expert Guidance

  • Communicate clearly and regularly with CESA staff, school district personnel, and parents.
  • Analyze complex special education situations and provide sound, professional recommendations.
  • Attend required professional development meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for the appropriate Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) licensure for this assignment.
  • Education: Ability to satisfy all degree, licensure, certification, or training requirements as determined by the Agency.
  • Transportation: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and access to reliable private transportation.
  • Physical Demands: Applicants must be able to meet the physical requirements of a special education environment, which include:
  • Moving easily between rooms, buildings, or sites.
  • Responding quickly and physically to student needs, including emergency situations.
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and sitting on the floor as required.
  • Assisting students with mobility, positioning, or personal care.
  • Lifting and carrying materials/equipment up to 35 pounds.
