The Shorewood School District is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Cross Categorical Special Education teacher to join the Shorewood High School team. Candidates who have experience working with a diverse study body with a wide variety of needs, and with inclusive practices and co-teaching experience, are strongly preferred. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
A Cross Categorical teaching license (1801) is required, as is experience or a willingness to be trained in G tubes and hygiene care.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans.
Collect, use, and analyze data for progress monitoring and instructional development.
Collaborate with teachers and school counselors on students, curriculum, scheduling, and behavior management.
Implement differentiated instruction and effective learning strategies and participate in team planning.
Take responsibility for the safety and well-being of students in school and during school-programmed events.
Maintain positive home/school relationships with diverse family structures through regular communication.
Team teach in a flexible learning environment.
Participate and collaborate as a member of the school faculty by assuming duties required of all teachers.
Maintain professional skills by attending professional development activities.
Other duties as assigned.
