Must possess a high level of knowledge and experience providing a continuum of services and working in inclusive settings with students identified with various disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, specific learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disabilities, and other health impairments. Must be willing to teach collaboratively with regular education teachers in mainstream classrooms. Must be knowledgeable in the IEP process to utilize the behavior management systems, including conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments and designing Behavioral Intervention Plans. Must be able to work as a team player with other teachers, support staff, administration, parents, and community agencies to meet the needs of disabled students in the least restrictive environment. Excellent communication skills are essential. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain a professional relationship with co-workers; consistently keep people informed and share ideas. Must practice data-driven instructional decision-making and demonstrate the ability to provide evidence-based academic interventions in literacy, math, and writing to students. Must have a background in social skills training models and be certified in CPI or willing to be trained. Must be flexible and adaptable to changing job needs/situations to facilitate student learning and promote a positive, collaborative work environment.
