Job Summary

The Senior “Coverage and Support” Specialist is a high level multi-disciplinary operations professional responsible for providing enhanced support across multiple departments within the Bank Operations business unit.

General support including file maintenance and transaction processing will be expected to be performed throughout all departments within the business unit when applicable.

General Supports includes:
• Transaction processing: Deposits, withdrawals, fees, wire transfers, general ledger entries, and check issuances
• Maintenance/Other: Customer updates, account updates, and new account opening

The Senior “Coverage and Support” Specialist will receive training and ongoing development and will be expected to develop and maintain subject matter expertise in Retirement Services, Lease Security, and Banking Services.

This role serves as a flexible resource that can be deployed to any unit based on demand, workload surges, staffing gaps, system conversions, projects, regulatory deadlines, or specialized expertise needs.

The Senior “Coverage and Support” Specialist is expected to operate with minimal supervision, demonstrate strong decision making, and ensure accuracy, compliance, and service excellence across all supported functions.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective high-level processing, file maintenance, account opening, research, and administrative support across designated departments.
  • Assist with secondary reviews and approvals of staff work in support of department managers.
  • Assist with branch/customer inquiries, support, and escalated matters (email, phone call)
  • Follow established department procedures with accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide support during peak workloads, PTO coverage, or when assigned unit staff are unavailable.
  • Serve as an escalation point for
  • Support reporting and reconciliation efforts.
  • Monitor workflow queues and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Crosstrain on key tasks within each business area, promoting operational flexibility and knowledge sharing across the unit.
  • Uphold adherence to multi department procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal controls, maintaining operational compliance at all times.

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

  • Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent
  • Minimum experience required: 3+ Years of experience in banking
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, excel and Outlook), familiarity with banking systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow procedures and ability to follow procedures independently
