The Multi-Modality MRI Technologist operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment and a minimum of one additional modality equipment which could include Cat Scan, Diagnostic Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, or Ultrasound equipment to produce quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes following all Health First policies and procedures.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Maintains a safe environment with the operations of equipment for customers/patients, coworkers, and self by adhering to safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Properly screens patients for safety and effectively documents and communicates pertinent and required information pre and post procedure performance as appropriate.
Positions patients using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with department safety procedures and protocols as appropriate
Produces images consistent with image quality standards and evaluates for technical quality.
Properly identifies, prepares and administers medications that are within the Technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Monitors patients during exams, observing any adverse reactions or complications and taking appropriate actions when necessary.
Maintains flexibility, adapts to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the Health First organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume.
Communicates effectively with customers (patients, LP, other Health First associates, the public, etc.) always using excellent customer relation skills.
Follows all Federal, State and Regional healthcare regulations and adhere to Joint Commission/ACR standards.
Provides orientation and education for new Technologists and assists Radiologists in developing new protocols and imaging techniques.
Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Any one of the following:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) - Accredited programs or schools OR
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) - Accredited programs or schools OR
Joint Review Committee Nuclear Medicine Technologist (JRCNMT) Nuclear Medicine program OR
Joint Review Committee Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS) Sonography program.
Work Experience: None
Licensure: General Radiographer licensure in the State of Florida.
Certification:
Any one of the following:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R) OR
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in MRI Technology - ARRT (MR) OR
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) OR
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology - ARRT (N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) OR
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Sonography Technology - ARRT (S) OR
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist - ARRT (MR) within two (2) years of start date.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Ability to report to applicable Health First facility within thirty (30) minutes when on call.
Ability to work safely in a magnetic environment.
Demonstrate effective time management, critical thinking skills, and coordinate scheduling and patient flow.
Able to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment and able to respond to life threatening situations.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience: Prior MRI experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physically agile; requires walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching majority of the shift.
Heavy work that frequently includes lifting or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more with or without assistance.
May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or overhead.
May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.
May be exposed to inside environments and outside environments with extreme temperatures, air contamination, dirt, grease, or water.
May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines.
May operate various types of manual and motorized equipment used in the transportation of materials.
May be exposed to intense noise or vibration and awkward or confined work position.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
Workspace may vary from open to confined, onsite or remote.
May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
