Crossing Guard

The Bibb County School District is now accepting applications for Crossing Guard.

JOB SUMMARY:

Controls and monitors vehicular and pedestrian traffic at specified locations before and after school as assigned.

REPORTS TO:

Crossing Guard Coordinator(s); Deputy Chief of Campus Police; School Principal

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Criminal background check required.
• Must have a desire to work with children.
• Must be able to safely direct children and traffic.
• Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to effectively communicate.
• Must be able to quickly respond to emergencies when necessary.
• Some knowledge of traffic laws and the ability to use sound judgement.

SALARY/TERMS/BENEFITS:

• 180 day work year; 3 hours per day
• Salary Range: placement on the salary schedule is based on years of allowed related experience. The stated salary range reflects the opportunity for pay over the course of the employee''s tenure.
