The Waterford Graded School District is in need of 1-6 crossing guards:

A crossing guard is needed at the at the lower lot for the morning crossing from 6:55 am-7:25 am, 8:00 am-8:30 am, 2:50 pm-3:20 pm and 3:45 pm-4:15 pm. (this can be done by one person or 3 individuals if only one time works for you)

A crossing guard is needed for Trailside at the corner of Milwaukee Street and Foxmead Crossing (by Pick and Save) to from 8:20 am-8:50 am and 3:55 pm-4:25 pm (this can be done by one person or 2 individuals if only one time works for you)

The crossing guard is expected to be at the assigned location at the designated time and remain there for a minimum of 30 minutes. They will assist in crossing children for Fox river Middle School, Evergreen Intermediate school or. Trailside Early Primary. The selected candidate will train with a crossing guard prior to your assignment start date.

Job Summary: The School Crossing Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and community members by assisting pedestrians in safely crossing designated streets before and after school and during other assigned times. The Crossing Guard monitors traffic conditions, directs pedestrians at assigned crossing locations, and promotes safe pedestrian practices in accordance with Wisconsin traffic laws and district safety procedures. This position requires vigilance, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with children, families, school staff, and the public while maintaining a visible and positive presence in the community.

  • Assist students and other pedestrians in safely crossing streets at designated school crossings.

  • Monitor traffic patterns and use approved crossing procedures and equipment to stop traffic when necessary.

  • Promote safe pedestrian behavior and reinforce school safety expectations.

  • Remain alert to traffic hazards and respond appropriately to changing roadway conditions.

  • Report unsafe conditions, traffic concerns, accidents, or incidents to the appropriate district administrator or law enforcement agency.

  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality for assigned shifts before and after school.

  • Interact courteously and professionally with students, parents, staff, motorists, and community members.

  • Follow all district policies, safety procedures, and applicable Wisconsin traffic regulations.

  • Attend required training sessions and meetings as assigned.
