Crusher Mechanic

Frenchman HillsQuarry, located in Othello, WA, is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Crusher Mechanic to support daily operations, maintenance, and repair of crushing and screening equipment. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.

Responsibilities Include:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on crushers, conveyors, screen units, and related equipment
• Conduct and document daily, pre-shift, and post-shift inspections to identify safety and maintenance issues
• Complete preventive maintenance including greasing, oiling, and routine servicing
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with component replacement (belts, bearings, pulleys, motors, etc.)
• Maintain conveyor systems, including belt tracking and splicing
• Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and haul trucks as needed
• Perform general plant upkeep, including cleaning and material removal to prevent buildup
• Use hand tools and power tools; perform basic welding, cutting, and grinding as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and accurately complete required paperwork
• Follow all safety policies and comply with MSHA, OSHA, DOT, and other regulations
• Complete other tasks as needed or assigned

Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude required; experience with crushing or aggregate equipment required
• Equipment operation experience (loader, forklift, etc.) is a plus
• Welding and fabrication experience (stick/MIG) required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and commitment to safety
• Valid driver’s license required

Workplace Safety, Environment, and Physical Requirements:

• Ability to remain alert and aware throughout entire shift
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working on uneven terrain
• Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Regular exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and moving mechanical parts
• Must wear required PPE, including respirators and fall protection
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces

Work Schedule:

• Regular, reliable attendance is required
• Regular schedule is Monday – Friday, 40+ hours per week
• 8-hour shift starting at 6 AM to 8 AM, depending on season
• Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required

• $25-$35/hour, depending on qualifications and experience
• Washington State Paid Sick Leave, one week of paid vacation in first year, one week of holiday pay at end of year
• After 60 days of employment: 90% paid employee medical/vision and dental insurance
• After one year of service: eligible to participate in 401(k) and receive a matching contribution equal to 100% of the first 4% of pay contributed
