    Location: Hinkley, CA

    Employment Type: Full-Time

    POSITION SUMMARY

Turner Staffing Group is partnered with a mining company in Hinkley, CA that is hiring a Crushing Plant Electrician. This role is responsible for the mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant assets — jaw crushers, cone crushers, impact crushers, feeders, stackers, conveyors, and associated structural and electrical infrastructure. This position keeps the plant running at full production capacity by diagnosing and correcting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures, and by performing preventive maintenance that minimizes unplanned downtime.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable inside a control panel, on a ladder, or turning a wrench on stationary equipment, and treats safety and uptime as the most important factors.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT THE CANDIDATE POSSESS AND MAINTAIN AN ACTIVE ELECTRICIAN LICENSE. CANDIDATES WHO DO NOT POSSESS THAT LICENSE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical issues affecting crushing plants, screening plants, cone crushers, impact crushers, feeders, stackers, and conveyors
    • Troubleshoot and repair plant electrical systems such as electric motors, motor starters, soft starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, switchgears, circuit breakers, disconnects, sensors, limit switches, solenoids, and control panels
    • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on all stationary plant assets per PM schedules
    • Troubleshoot electrical faults on plant machinery and components
    • Install conduit, cable tray, wire, and electrical components for new plant equipment and expansions
    • Read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and equipment manuals
    • Work closely with plant operators and mechanics to quickly diagnose equipment failures
    • Respond to plant breakdowns, prioritizing safety and minimizing production downtime
    • Maintain portable and stationary generators and assist with generator installations and hookups
    • Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches (ATS) and generator control systems
    • Monitor electrical loads and assist with balancing plant power requirements
    • Coordinate electrical tie-ins for temporary and permanent plant installations
    • Inspect motors, wiring, junction boxes, disconnects, breakers, and control panels
    • Perform infrared inspections when applicable
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage, and offer recommendations that increase reliability and reduce downtime
    • Follow all MSHA regulations and company safety policies
    • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, fall protection, and all site safety procedures without exception while working safely around 120V, 240V, 480V, and medium-voltage systems
    • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend plant breakdowns
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Medical Fitness: Candidates to whom an offer is made must pass a “Fitness for Duty” examination, which may include a physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, and respiratory function testing.

    • Failure to pass the “Fitness for Duty” examination and/or to demonstrate the ability to safely perform essential functions may result in withdrawal of an offer of employment.
