The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University''s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Columbia University School of Nursing is seeking to hire a short-term casual student research worker to provide qualitative research support for several NIH-funded projects focusing on primary care, the healthcare workforce, and the care and outcomes of older adults with chronic diseases, including dementia.

The selected candidates will collaborate with other researchers to complete research tasks. They will work closely with the team to support various aspects of the research lifecycle, from literature reviews, manuscript presentation, and participant interview support

There is a possibility of additional hours (the limit is 20 hours per week), depending on project needs.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • assisting with related literature reviews, grant preparation, and manuscript preparation, and;
  • supporting the collection of qualitative interview data;
  • aiding data cleaning, preparation, management, and analysis;
  • support qualitative data analysis in NVivo;
  • participating in research meetings;
  • performing other related duties as assigned.

This position is grant-funded, and continued employment will be contingent upon the grant.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (MS, MPH or PhD) in public health, social work, or related field;
  • Knowledge of/experience working in a health-related field;
  • Experience with or interest in research projects, particularly qualitative interviews, survey data collection, management, and analysis;
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background and/or experience in health-related research is highly preferred. Experience with qualitative methods, such as conducting interviews or coding, is also preferred.
