Introduction

Prince William County Community Services is seeking an experienced clinician to serve as a Therapist III (Senior Clinical Service Caseworker) within our Court-Related Outpatient Treatment Program. This position plays a critical leadership role in delivering specialized treatment services for justice-involved individuals, including those participating in Recovery Court. The selected candidate will work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team dedicated to reducing recidivism, promoting recovery, and improving long-term community outcomes. This position qualifies for a hiring bonus of $5,000. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments. The first installment of $2,500 will be paid after you have completed 90 days of employment. The final $2,500 installment will be disbursed upon successful completion of the probationary period.
About This Role
Provides and supervises a comprehensive array of clinical services for individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders, including assessment, individual, group, and family therapy.
Serves as first-line clinical supervisor for program staff, providing guidance, coaching, and oversight of daily clinical operations.
Leads treatment coordination for Recovery Court participants and serves as a primary liaison with Recovery Court team members.
Collaborates closely with local and state probation offices, pre-trial services, and the courts to support treatment engagement and compliance.
Prepares and oversees clinical reports, treatment recommendations, and progress updates for court and probation partners.
Ensures implementation of evidence-based practices and program curricula with fidelity.
Facilitates assessments, groups, and treatment sessions as needed to support program operations.
Proactively supports clients in reducing relapse and recidivism risk while progressing toward individualized treatment goals.
Maintains program waitlists and assigns cases to subordinate staff.
Provides clinical consultation and guidance related to risk assessment and case management for justice-involved clients.
Develops and maintains strong collaborative relationships with criminal justice and community stakeholders.
Assists with administrative functions, including hiring support, program operations, and quality improvement activities.
Prepares reports and maintains documentation in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Participates in staff meetings, multidisciplinary staffing, and professional development activities.
Minimum Requirements:
Masters Degree in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral science field
3 years of experience in the delivery of human services in a Substance Abuse outpatient program
Must be LCSW or LPC licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia
1-2 years professional-level clinical supervisory experience
Preferences:
Experience and knowledge supervising and providing outpatient substance abuse and co-occurring treatment services to criminal justice involved populations
Experience using the ASAM Criteria and DLA 20
Experience and knowledge regarding best practices for Medication Assisted Treatment
Experience with Medicaid documentation standards
Bilingual, Spanish/ English
Special Requirements (if applicable):
Possession of a valid drivers license;
Must pass DMV record check;
Must pass TB Test;
Certification in First Aid and Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation, as required.
Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprint-based national criminal history record check.
Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services
