POSTING DATE: September 16, 2026 EFFECTIVE DATE: 26-27 School Year LOCATION: Pemberton Township High School CLOSING DATE: Until Filled POSITIONS: Play Director Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated experience in theater, drama, musical theater, or theatrical production. Experience directing, producing, or assisting with school, community, college, or professional theatrical productions. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with high school students. Strong communication, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to plan and manage all aspects of a theatrical production, including: o Auditions and casting o Rehearsal schedules o Blocking and staging o Character development o Set and prop coordination o Costumes and makeup o Lighting and sound coordination o Production timelines o Performances Ability to establish and maintain appropriate behavioral and safety expectations for students. Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, staff, parents/guardians, and community members. Successful completion of required criminal history background checks. Preferred Qualifications Degree in Theater, Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field. Previous experience directing a high school or middle school theatrical production. Experience with both straight plays and musical productions. Formal training in directing, acting, stagecraft, technical theater, or theater education. Experience working with student performers and technical theater crews. Familiarity with theater production software, lighting/sound systems, and stage management practices. Experience developing production budgets and managing theatrical expenditures. NJ teaching certification or other appropriate educational credential. Please note these positions are open to all District schools to eligible district staff. SALARY: In accordance with the provisions of the Agreement between the Pemberton Township Board of Education and the Pemberton Township Education Association. Note programs are based on student enrollment, and employment is subject to the district's ability to hold in-house instruction. Cancellation due to enrollment or adjustment to remote learning will terminate the need to fill these positions.
