CST II

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager, Surgical Services, and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist II is responsible for providing surgical scrub on all types of minor and major surgical procedures dependent on individual competencies. The Surgical Technologist II may also circulate on assigned cases under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Surgical Technologist II will be pivotal in training staff, managing surgical instruments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance surgical processes.

1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. 10 or more years experience in providing Operating Room services as a surgical technician.
3. Experience in Orthopedics is preferred.
4. Current verification of competency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation including pediatric resuscitation.
5. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited body.
6. Proven leadership experience in a surgical environment, with a strong understanding of surgical procedures and protocols.
7. Experience with EHR systems.
8. Advanced certifications in specialized surgical fields preferred.
