CST - Orthopedics

The orthopedic Service line provides surgical care to patients undergoing all types of orthopedic procedures from total joint arthroplasties (hip, knee, shoulder and ankle) to fracture repair, arthroscopic and sports medicine procedures. Candidates applying to this order must have a minimum of 3 years of recent full time experience as a surgical technologist in a high volume hospital setting, with demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of orthopedic surgery procedures. Candidates with less experience or requiring extensive onboarding will not be considered. Must provide verifiable references from at least two prior travel assignments confirming no training was needed. Must be able to function independently in a fast paced surgical environment with the ability to hit the ground running. The schedule for this contract is five weekday shifts from 0645 to 1515 although staff may be asked to participate in cases starting as early as 6:30 am which require arrival at 5:45am to ensure an on time start. Candidates may also be asked periodically to float to other services based on department needs. Candidates must also participate in call coverage for the department after normal business hours and weekends.
