CState Complete Support Specialist (Grant Funded)
Reconnecting Stopped Out Students: A Relationship-Building Approach to Student Success is a new US Department of Education-funded Title III Grant Project. The primary goal of the project is to improve degree attainment outcomes by preventing stop-out and facilitating the return of students who have left college before earning a degree or certificate. The Support Specialist serves as part of a "one-stop" resource Reconnection Team for students returning to campus.
Essential Duties
- Collaborate with the Project Director, Project Manager, Data Manager, and Reconnection Team Leader to develop initial strategies for project launch
- Support Reconnection Team Leader and student workers in outreach
- Serve as case manager for returning students
- Facilitate student connection with services necessary for their return to the College
- Develop and execute activities to support newly returned students
- Develop and execute activities to remove obstacles that might influence students to leave school
- Coordinate with the Office of Student Activities to contribute to a vibrant culture of student engagement
- Collaborate with campus offices such as Financial Aid, Registrar, Admissions, and Bursar
- Collaborate with CState Accelerate, SSS Trio, Academic Support Centers, and other student support offices
- Participate in college-wide admission, retention, and recruitment activities
- Maintain records and ensure compliance with rules for financial aid and debt relief programs
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in student-facing roles in a higher education setting
- Demonstrated understanding of student support/success operations in a higher education setting
- Customer/Client service experience
- Cincinnati State graduate
Desired Competencies:
- Demonstrated commitment to student and faculty success and to continuous quality improvement.
