The Staff CT Technologist in Radiology is responsible to the Radiology Manager.  The Staff CT Technologist is responsible for administering ionizing radiation to patients using the diagnostic modalities requested by the referring physicians.  The Technologist operates radiologic equipment, maintains radiographic rooms, supplies and medications.

Staff CT Technologist Position.  Minimum requirement ARRT RT(R), CT, & OBMI Licensed General Radiology and CT.  Additional modalities helpful for additional responsibilities and compensation.

Shift coverage of acute care Hospital Imaging, Outpatient, Urgent Care, and Orthopedic Clinics may be on a rotational basis.  Shifts will be primary days with evening, weekend, coverage for secondary backup and shift support. Rotational call will be an expectation for secondary and primary support.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Graduate of an approved AMA program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • Licensed with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging; current registry/certification with an OMBI accredited body specific to the modality of practice; current OBMI licensing for the modality or modalities of practice inclusive of both permanent, temporary, or provisional. Active licensing must be accessible for review or viewing at all time within the hospital.
  • Previous Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.
  • Communicate therapeutically.
  • Lift 75 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/or carrying or objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Provide care for the patient’s age-specific, cultural, physical and psychosocial well-being.
  • Call is required and Technologist must live within a 30-minute response radius.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Past experience should show satisfactory to superior job performance.
  • Evidence of continuing education appropriate for skill level and area of practice.
  • Must be able to maintain the care, use and safety of supplies, equipment, and work areas in the proper performance of work duties.
  • Able to prepare and maintain patient records and reports.
  • Must possess quality writing and verbal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, peers, the public, physicians, and ancillary department staff.
  • Able to react calmly and effectively in urgent and emergent situations.
  • Able to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Must demonstrate strong personal integrity, stamina, and emotional stability.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support card or obtain one prior to employment within Grande Ronde Hospital.
