Pay Rate: $ 3042.47/week including $1803.47 non taxable stipend
Job Description:
The CT Technologist performs diagnostic and specialized computerized tomography (CT) procedures under minimal supervision to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role includes patient preparation and care, IV line insertion, contrast administration, image quality evaluation, equipment quality assurance, and accurate documentation using clinical and imaging systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic CT procedures including head, chest, spine, abdomen, pelvis, and other anatomical studies.
Perform specialized CT procedures, including cardiac and vascular studies, CT angiography, bone density, and 3-D reconstructions.
Assist physicians with CT-guided procedures such as biopsies as needed.
Start IV lines and administer oral, rectal, and intravenous contrast media according to established protocols.
Pull contrast from Pyxis, document contrast administration in eMar, and load power injectors proficiently.
Prepare patients by obtaining consent, explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring appropriate positioning and attire.
Assess patients before and after procedures and report changes in condition to nursing staff or the Radiologist.
Assist patients with transfers to and from the CT table and provide appropriate care during procedures and transportation.
Operate CT equipment, enter required technical data, review images for quality, and perform daily and weekly quality assurance procedures.
Complete required workflow and patient-care documentation using Epic, ITS, Meditech, PACS, eMar, and Pyxis.
Maintain patient flow by assisting with exam scheduling, transporting patients, replenishing supplies, cleaning the work area, and reporting equipment malfunctions.
Assist with emergency medical treatment under physician direction and participate in department meetings, in-services, and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a two-year Radiologic Technology training program approved by the AMA.
At least 1 year of experience as a licensed technologist.
Ability to perform specialized CT procedures.
Epic experience required: 6–12 months within the past year.
CRT certification.
ARRT certification.
BLS certification.
Demonstrated experience with IV line insertion, diagnostic CT procedures, specialized CT procedures, and patient care.
